Minocqua Vacation 2012: Dockside Fishing

Over the last couple of years, the kids have finally gotten old enough to enjoy venturing down to The Beacons' boathouse for some dock side fishing.  Granted, with their kiddie poles and night crawlers, blue gills are the biggest fish they will ever catch, but regardless, they have a blast.

Ben found that they had the most success fishing after 7 pm.  After that point in time, he could barely keep up with the kids' demands for more worms (apparently there was a lot of fish-feeding going on) and releasing their lucky catches.  Although I went along a few times, I was not yet about to touch the slimy worms or fish.

I did, however, help Olivia hook her first fish...which also just so happened to be the smallest fish Ben said he had ever seen caught!  Score!

Since there weren't enough fishing poles to go around, Olivia and I took snack breaks by the water while waiting to borrow a pole.

And that brings me to the end of the Minocqua pictures for 2012!  Until next year...and yes, the dates are already on the calendar :)
