Happy Birthday Zach!

There is a 7-year old in our family once again!  We began celebrations the day before Zach's actual birthday with an all boy (12, to be exact) party at the local YMCA.  The boys arrived wearing their favorite team colors/jerseys (not a Viking jersey was to be fact, the majority support the Packers on this side of the St. Croix!) and had a great time running around like crazies in the gym, taking breaks only to rip off their shoes and jump in the bounce house.  We devoured pizza, football pretzels and cookie cake before opening presents and then sending them home with a bag full of football cards, candy, and their very own foam footballs that are sure to drive their parents insane.  It was a great party and we were thrilled to meet so many of the new friends Zach has already made at his new school.

Zach didn't seem to mind that his sisters tagged along...and his sisters didn't seem to have any problem keeping up with the boys!

The boys designing their own football helmets while waiting for everyone to arrive.

Ben laying down the law...just kidding.  Receiving instructions before heading to the gym.

Ben started pushing the boys on the scooters.

Thankfully, Ben didn't start the pushing until close to the end of our gym time.  Because once Ben started pushing, Ben was not able to stop pushing!

It is impossible to get a group shot with everyone looking!

After we arrived home from his party, Grandma and Grandpa stopped by to give them their present.  Then, Allie was too excited to wait, and so decided that Zach could open her present too!

Zach's actual birthday began early in the morning...and by early, I mean 3:00 am when he awoke and discovered the first clue for the scavenger hunt we made up for him to find his birthday present.  Yes, we made him go back to bed, but he could barely sleep after solving that first clue and so the scavenger hunt resumed at approximately 6:00 am.

Yes, he wore the exact same jersey he wore the previous day.  The personalized Green Bay jersey was a gift from Grandma and Grandpa Dzioba and he wore it for 3 days straight before I told him we had to wash it.

After enlisting some help from Allie to solve the last few clues, Zach successfully located his present in the garage.

After waffles for breakfast, we quickly headed off for church.

All three crazies at church waiting to help Daddy lead worship.
Zach spent the rest of the day riding his bike and playing with all of his birthday presents.  He requested cookies and popcorn for dinner with a movie.  He was absolutely shocked when I said, "OK."

The cookies I spent half a day making...but, for some reason, the frosting never hardened and they looked terrible!  Do not let this picture fool you!

Fortunately, they tasted delicious!

I was absolutely shocked that I said, "OK" to cookies and popcorn for dinner.

What a fantastic weekend celebrating Zach!  We are so glad you are part of our family and know that God has great plans for your life!
